Solar Panels

WELCOME TO THE WEBSITE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS FOR SOUTH MUNDHAM SOLAR FARM

The proposal is for ground mounted solar array – known as a solar farm- for 40 years. All solar PV array infrastructure including modules, mounting structures, cabling, inverters and transformers will be removed from the development site and recycled or disposed of in accordance with good practice and market conditions at that time.

The Proposed Development comprises a solar farm including photovoltaic panels on metal frames, supporting infrastructure including inverters, transformers, substation, fencing, CCTV cameras, access tracks and biodiversity mitigation.

The capacity is approximately 30 MWac. The electricity generated by the solar panels will either wholly be exported to the grid via a connection into the existing 33 kV line crossing the Application Site or a proportion of the electricity may have a direct connection to Chichester Food Park.

This solar farm has the potential to generate more than 25,500,000 kWh of electricity per year, which is equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of approximately 9,062 dwellings.
