Clarification on Upcoming Solar Farm Planning Applications and EIA Screen Request Application
We would like to address recent discussions regarding the two separate applications for proposed solar farm developments in South Mundham. Transparency and open communication with our community are of utmost importance to us, and we want to ensure that all stakeholders have accurate information.
Independently Developed Projects
We wish to clarify that the solar farm proposed by BNRG Langmead (Planning Reference: 24/01859/FUL - South Mundham Solar Farm) is entirely independent of the application for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening opinion for a solar farm recently proposed by the German renewables company, ILOS. This solar farm screening opinion application is on a field known as Big Chop to the west of Runcton Lane (Planning Reference: 25/00369/EIA).
An EIA screening request for land at ‘Big Chop’ has been submitted for a 45MW solar farm on land controlled by Oliver Langmead through a Trust. This is entirely separate to the BNRG Langmead planning application, the two projects are being promoted entirely separately and are managed by distinct and unrelated entities. Although there is a family connection, this is by name only and the land is in two separate ownerships with no cross over between the two.
